About Directory
Directory is a simple app for making friends and dating. We give you full access to the filters that matter to you, whether you’re looking for friends, a monogamous partner, polyamory, or just exploring. The custom tags you add to your profile become searchable by other users– allowing you to connect on niche interests. No hidden algorithm, no swipe games, no fees, no ads.
We’re in beta and currently only active in North Carolina. If you’d like to help bring Directory to your area, please email us at contact@meet.directory!
How to report or block a user
- View their profile. You can do this from the profile explorer, or, if they have liked you or you have a chat with them, you can tap their profile photo on the left of the chat/like pane.
- Scroll to the bottom of their profile and click the burger menu icon.
- Here you will see the option to block or report them.
How to delete your account
- Login to the app
- Go to settings (click the gear icon in the lower right)
- Click “Account Management” to open the account management menu
- Click “Delete Account”
Note: This will permanently delete your profile and messages from our servers, there is currently no grace period! Profile information and messages may be retained for a limited time if your account has been reported by another user to help us investigate.

Safety
Your safety matters. Follow these guidelines when using directory:
Protect your information
- Don’t share your home address, workplace, or financial details.
- Avoid photos that reveal where you live or work.
- Never send money, gift cards, or crypto to someone you met on the app.
Meet safely
- Chat in the app first. Don’t rush to share personal contact info.
- Meet in a public place the first few times.
- Tell a friend where you’re going, who you’re meeting, and when you’ll be back.
- Arrange your own transportation, don’t get picked up at home.
- Have an exit plan. Leaving early is always okay.
Warning signs
Be cautious of anyone who:
- Asks for money or investment opportunities
- Pushes to move off the app very quickly
- Professes strong feelings unusually fast
- Pressures you for explicit photos
