iOS Development Update
September 16, 2026
Hello everyone, long time no see!
I got real damn close to releasing on iOS, I really did. There were just a few measly steps left to get it on the app store. Somewhere along the way, I lost the time and motivation to continue. I’ve been travelling for about a month and have now got myself in a situation where the MacBook I bought for iOS development is in use on the other side of the country.
I don’t have the same amount of time and energy as I did when getting this started and, in retrospect, part of me was afraid of success. If Directory did start snowballing in popularity, I don’t know if I’d have time to keep up with it.
The good news is that I’ve decided not to shut Directory down. I will keep the Android and web versions running, perhaps even with some infrequent updates.
And if a knight in shining iOS armor decides to join my efforts and manage iOS testing and releases, the project has a good chance to continue. But for now I’m taking a step back. It’s been fun, and amazing how far the project came in such a short time. But I don’t have the hutzpah to continue on my own.
Thanks for following up to this point and if any readers know any nerds who would be interested in tinkering, do tell them to reach out and check the description on the support page.
All the best
